Pune : Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki is one of the most respected names in the field of Indian Classical Music. A versatile genius who created his own landmark in the field of Indian Music. Although a legend in classical music he equally mastered other musical forms such as Thumri, Tappa, bhajan, and bhavgeet. His revolutionary work in the field of marathi Natya sangeet is well known and revered.
As a tribute to the legendary artist, Shri. Ujwal Keskar, Aapla Parisar and Tarangini Sanskrutik Pratishthan organise Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki Sangeet Mahotsav in Pune every year. This is the 15th year of the Mahotsav and the event will be free for all the music connoisseurs.
The Mahotsav will be inaugurated by Shri.Chandrakant Patil Guardian Minister of Pune and Minister of State. Newly elected MLA and Mayor of Pune, Mukta Tilak will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The uniqueness of this festival is that it provides opportunity to the upcoming talent in the field of Indian Classical Music in Yuva Mahotsav which would be held on 15th & 17th of November at 9:00 am
Every year, an award is presented to a senior person who has made a recognizable contribution in the field of music and a deserving young musician who has done creative work in the field of music. This year, Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki Smruti Award will be given to Shri. Maheshbabu, who has organized numerous classical music programs. Similarly,The Youth Award will be presented to Suranjan Khandalkar. Both the awards comprise of a plaque and cash reward.

This session will include Marathi Bhav-Bhakti Sangeet by Arya Ambekar, Madhura Datar,Kishore Kulkarni and Chaitanya Kulkarni.The session will be anchored by Shri. Milind Kulkarni.
